CPG-16 - STANDARD & HIGH DEFINITION TV TEST PATTERN GENERATOR
with HDMI/DVI, YPbPr and PC-RGB (VGA) outputs.

Test patterns
All picture patterns are shown below and are generated in 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratios independently.

Two generators in one
Modern TV receivers as well as computer monitors can display getting more and more signal types, fit to more sources, and deal with more picture formats. For comprehensive testing of all TV inputs, signal paths and the display itself, the following signal sources are needed:

traditional video used in terrestrial TV and older video equipment (including component RGB + sync, luma + chroma SVHS, CVBS, teletext and modulated RF signals),
PC-RGB (VGA/SVGA/XGA/SXGA) signals usually fed by 15-pin DSUB connector,
SDTV/HDTV employing both analog (YPbPr) and digital (DVI, HDMI) connecting techniques.

All traditional signals can be delivered by the CPG-17 generator, the other member of the Jupitel generators family. The two other signal groups can be obtained from the CPG-16.

It is worth emphasizing, that the list of available TV formats includes also the most advanced 1080p formats that are relevant to the so called full HDTV equipment. The YPbPr component signals are output at the 3xCINCH sockets and the HDMI signal at the HDMI output.

PC (RGB+HV) waveforms are output at the standard VGA socket (D-SUB,15-pin).

Sound
Regardless of the selected picture format and pattern, there are two audio signals permanently available from the CPG-16 - the 400 Hz tone in the right channel and the 1 kHz tone in left. The audio signals can be reached on the two CINCH outputs and are present at the HDMI output scrambled together with the picture.

Control
All functions of the CPG-16X can be controlled manually from the front panel keypad. The status of the generator is indicated by LEDs.

Power supply
The CPG-16 should be powered from external power supply unit with 9Vac/1200mA.

CPG-16X - is the improved version of the CPG-16. It offers more picture formats, more test patterns, convenient LCD status display and can be additionally controlled by RS-232 interface. Refer HERE for details.
